Graduate Career Research Consultant

$15.00 per Hour | 10-15 Hours Per Week

The Graduate Career Research Consultant position will work closely with Graduate Career Services and Graduate Division teams to conduct data collection and analysis in order to better understand the relationship between professional development preparation, career outcomes and professional skill development.  Working with quantitative and qualitative data that has been collected over the past 4 years on graduate professional development activities, outcomes and skills, this position will address specific research areas that include, but are not limited to:

 

·      graduate student and postdoc usage of professional development services at UCLA

·      correlations between professional development engagement and employment outcomes

·      key learning outcomes associated with specific professional development programs

·      identification of gaps in skill development and services

The successful candidate for this position will join a graduate career consultant cohort of 6 graduate students, receive training and mentorship from career center staff, build a strong research project for their portfolio, and earn $15 per hour.  Applicants must be currently enrolled UCLA graduate students who are approved to work 10-15 hours per week in addition to any funding/fellowship.

 

This position is 10-15 hours per week for the academic year, and much of the work can be done remotely, though a workspace is available at the career center.  The successful candidate should have interest in or experience with Tableau, demonstrated skills in critical thinking, and a solution-oriented approach to data analysis.  Students pursuing advanced degrees in social sciences, education, statistics, math or related fields are highly encouraged to apply.
