Pigments, binding media, grounds, wood and degradation products were characterized by x ray diffraction analyses, x ray fluorescence spectroscopy, polarized light microscopy, wood anatomy, gas chromatography mass spectrometry and Elisa, a synopsis of the results of the study will be presented with examples of specific coffins illustrated.
