Jason Price, PhD student in NELC studying under Professor William Schniedewind, has been awarded the Regional Scholar Award by the national SBL’s regional scholars’ awards committee. Jason’s paper, “The Smashed Tablets as Defunct Cult Objects,” was first presented in the Bible and the ANE session at the Society meeting last March, earned the Society’s nomination for regional scholar, and was sent to the national committee. Jason is one of only two scholars selected from all regions this year for a national award.
