Dr. Luke Yarbrough Short-Listed for 2020 British-Kuwait Friendship Society Book Prize

We are proud to announce that Dr. Luke Yarbrough has been awarded one of the two runner up prizes in this year’s British-Kuwait Friendship Society Book Prize for his recent book, Friends of the Emir: Non-Muslim State Officials in Premodern Islamic Thought (Cambridge University Press).

All are invited to attend the Award Ceremony on December 1st at 10:00AM (PST), (6:00PM in the UK), which will be livestreamed on facebook, accessible at the link below. The ceremony will be hosted by HE Mr Khaled Al-Duwaisan, Chairman of the Book Prize. The Ambassador’s welcome address will be followed by Frances Guy, Chair of the Judges who will highlight the shortlisted books before announcing the runner up titles. She will then introduce this year’s winning title – Electric News in Colonial Algeria by Dr. Arthur Asseraf (Oxford University Press).
