The department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures in collaboration with Professor Mario Beatty of Howard University is thrilled to announce a new Egyptology summer program. Called “Pathways to a PhD in Ancient Egyptian Studies,” it aims to challenge academic colonialism by bringing young scholars from HBCUs to UCLA to combine traditional Egyptological research with diverse perspectives and approaches. Participants will live and study at UCLA while taking an intensive course on ancient Egyptian language and culture. Best of all, the program is free for qualifying students!
