Confident Interviews in Academia: The Preliminary Interview for
Humanities Graduate Students

Even extroverts and experienced public speakers can feel intimidated by interview situations. However, when the stakes are high, practice and preparation will help you respond to an interview with grace and confidence as you convey essential information about your research and teaching experience. In this workshop, learn how and what to prepare for an initial/screening interview, and how to deliver responses that are as concise and authentic as they are smart. Learn to identify your nonverbal and verbal interviewing strengths so that you’ll know what to build upon and what to improve.
