Information Session on Internships with the U.S. Department of State

Throughout the year, the U.S. Department of State offers up to 1,000 internships at:
U.S. diplomatic facilities around the world
The headquarters of the U.S. Department of State headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Mission to the United Nations and other Department of State offices in New York City
Other Department of State facilities in selected cities throughout the United States.
Applications for Summer 2017 internships are currently being accepted, with a deadline of October 21.
Participants in the internship program help advance the mission of the U.S. Department of State to shape and sustain a peaceful, prosperous, just, and democratic world and fostering conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American people and people everywhere.
University of California Los Angeles interested learning how their education, perspectives and knowledge can contribute to the important work are encouraged to attend this workshop session with Recruitment and Outreach Officer Jim Ellickson-Brown, who will provide detailed tips on navigating the application and preparing a competitive application.
During the session, Mr. Ellickson-Brown will also provide information on the application process for other internship and fellowship opportunities, including Boren Fellowships and Critical Language Scholarships, as well as the many different career opportunities available with the U.S. Department of State, including the new Consular Fellows programs for speakers of Arabic, French, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
